I unfriended someone on facebook..you think it would be weird to send them a friend request again?

So there's this guy that I like that started to show interest in me, but we sort of lost contact. We were friends on facebook but because i thought he stopped showing interest, I unfriended him. A week later we began talking again. He didn't mention anything about it. We didn't go out on a date yet. You think it would be weird if I just sent him another friend request. I don't want to bring too much attention to the fact I unfriended him. lol I thought of making up some excuse..but should I just not say anything and send him a friend request and leave it at that....i'm probably over thinking it.
