Get her number on Facebook? A little more complicated...?

Hey guys,

I met a girl about a month or so ago... We talked for awhile (10-15 minutes) and I was stupid enough to not get her number. From then til now we've seen each other and said hello, how are you etc., just as we passed each other. All of those times it would've been weird to ask for her number because we were both headed somewhere and it just wouldn't have been the right time. I saw her again tonight and was unable to get her number because she was with a friend (girl) who she's like always with. Which is another reason I'm having troubles, so we just said our hello's again. I decided I'd add her on Facebook, so I did and she accepted. Now is where you guys come in: How do I get her number? It seems most convenient to do it through Facebook as there are really no other opportunities. I want to send her a message (not chat) saying something along the lines of "Hey, I've been meaning to ask for your number, but haven't gotten a chance to, how are you?" Or something like that, indirectly asking for her number. Or just being straight up with her and saying I was too scared to ask for her number around her friends. What do you think? Any ideas? Is it even okay to ask through Facebook?

Just be like hey nice seeing you again the other night, we should get together with(your common friends) and hang out sometime together, think maybe I can get your number so we can plan it?

Something among those lines you get the drill. Just don't make it too obvious that you wanna go out with her
