facebook privacy question?

OK so its a bit of a tricky situation but an answer would be great.

So there is this chick that i am kind of seing but cos of a long epic story i wont bore you with we arent freinds on facebook. we have sent each other a bunch of messages and i have a friend request sitting there for the last couple of months that i have just left.

anyway all of a sudden i couldnt see her picture on our messages (or send her a message anymore) and her friend request went away. I spoke to her about this and she said that her crazy ex boyfriend had gone a little crazy and she basically set all of her stuff on facebook to the most private she possibly could.....I dont think that would get rid of the friend request though. I think she might have blocked me but i do kind of believe that she didnt.

please no comments about the obviously retarded relationship i am having with this woman but yeah any information about how facebooks privacy works and how it would effect this situation would be great.

Ok 2 things I need to add she def didn't delete her account cos we have mutual friends.

The main point is she had sent me a friend request I didn't accept or deny and it's now gone. My main question is does this mean she has blocked me or can changing privacy settings do this? Thanks again for your responses.

Firstly as i said she def didnt deactivate her account, I def havent added her as a friend cos the friend request was ALWAYS there when i logged in on my iphone and normally up until this morning. Secondly I do beleive she hasnt gone out of her way to block me and yes i know how mental our relationship is but thats a whole other question lol. I spose my whole question boils down to is there any possible way to delete a friend request without either deactivating your account or blocking the person the request was sent to?

Also i can send her a friend request so would it allow me to do that if i was blocked by her? thanks again guys and gals.

I believe she just deleted/closed her Facebook account. If that is the case, she can always reactivate it anytime she wishes.

The crazy boyfriend must have ignored your request to be friends. That's why the request went away. Until it's sitting in her account or it's blocked you won't be able to request again. Yes, the most private settings can take the profile picture away. There's nothing you can do until she changes it back or you two become friends.

the only ways you can take back your friend request is to:
1. block you, and then unblock you, and the friend request is gone
2. deactivate your account, either temporarily or permently

I don't know if I am correct but I think that even if you made your profile "set to the most private",it would not remove the friend requests you made for a person. I have made a lot of friend requests and as as far as I know, I could not remove that request but only remove that person as my friend (after he/she accepts the request. Maybe you have just overlooked it and you probably forgot that you have added her already.

By the way, I never mentioned about the blocking stuff. I don't know how that works because I have never blocked people "to the most". The only things that i could think of the reasons why her friend request had gone are:
1. You overlooked it. You probably added her already. I think you have to be friends with people before you could send them messages.
2. She blocked you. (I'm not sure of this)
3. Her account was hacked.
4. She deleted or deactivated her account.

Probable reasons you aren't seeing her pic on your messages:
1. She blocked you,probably customized it that you won't see it.
2. She deactivated her account.
3. Her account was hacked.
4. Other reasons i cannot think
