A new facebook ad pops up and locks the page till I close it. If I can't eliminate it I will be eliminating Yahoo.

Under Explorer there is a switch to control pop ups. Under Tools, on my system, it is the first option and is just called pop up blocker. Just turn it on and see it that solves your problem.

Popup blocker in Firefox doesn't stop it. It has come up every day for at least a week. Very annoying. It seems to use a timer to interrupt your reading. About as intrusive as you could get.
