If a friend cancels friend request on Facebook, should I add them?

I'm pretty sure the person cancelled the friend request as the request was "no longer valid". Should I send them a request then, or should I just leave it at that?

if you fancy them... NO, you will come across as creepy. if it's a randomer... NO, you shouldnt add them anyway because you don't know them. if you know them, ask why they didn't accept in the first place?
