How to promote a facebook page about bullying?
Some friends and I are trying to start a non-profit/organization dedicated to raising awareness about bullying and how it is a major issue in today's world, especially with the rise of technology. I've tried inviting my friends to the page, but many of them ignore the little invite thing/notification. So, I sent out a group message to around 170 people (some of them I don't know) and they're all leaving the conversation due to my brother and his friends sending hateful messages/unnecessary comments. I asked them to please stop and they're like, "what's the problem?" "kill", etc. etc. and more people are leaving the conversation...
I've sent messages to all my friends to like my page (and some of them respond and some of them don't) and so i don't really wanna start a new conversation, quite yet. Are there any alternatives for promoting a Facebook page? (other than buying/advertising)
My friends and I are serious about this and it's not a joke and my brother and his friends are trying to make me look stupid. Thank you!

Try doing a website press release. This will help you make people aware of your Facebok page. As for your friends, I advice you endorse your page first to people you barely know or in popular pages related to bullying. I believe there are communities on Facebook about it. Once they support you, people will just keep coming, especially when they realize what you're doing is very important.
