How do I exclude myself from my friends' Friends list in Facebook apps?
My friends and family are idiots who play games on Facebook often. These games needlessly ask permission, which my friends ignorantly grant, for their personal information including their list of friends. The problem is that MY name is on that list, but I don't want that game to know who I am. Short of deleting my Facebook profile, how can I prevent my name from showing up as their friend. when they grant permission?
After further research I discovered that Facebook has a settings under Privacy->Applications->Info accessible through your friends that allows us to choose which information is available when friends use apps. Frustratingly, Facebook doesn't allow us to hide all our information. If we want to prevent apps from having access to any of our information we must disable all applications access to our profile. Sadly, that means I can no longer use any legitimate apps myself. So, I guess I am going without my apps. If anyone has a clue how I can protect my information from my friends without giving up my own apps I would be very grateful.
