What Constitutes Treason?
I posted this to my college, but they won't answer.

"A while back I subscribed to Chaves' twitter so I could better understand his stance and beliefs - I figured might as well go straight to the horse's mouth. I don't love the man, and if asked if I was one of his supporters I'd say I support him as much as Evo Morales; complete neutrality; intense indifference.

My mother blatently brought it to my attention that I would most definitely be tried for treason due to "Big Brother" spying on me and everything I do. I was already stripped of my facebook account (at the age of 19) for posting status messages about religious and political opinion at all.

There's no better experts that I could turn to other than my fellow classmates and our brilliant instructor for help. I'm no longer trusted to use the internet at all, what-so-ever, and I'm expected to delete my twitter and any "Evil Communist" files I have on my hardrive (as if I had any).

Am I currently being stripped of my own opinion and rights to my opinion for good reason? Will I be "tried for Treason against the United States of America" for being curious about Latin American leaders? I hate terrorism, and I like Freedom, and yes I do think this country needs some change, but I was born here and I intend absolutely no harm against any U.S. citizen. Red Emma lived in the USSR and published her distaste for that insanely strict and cruel empire and faced little penalty. Martin Luther published papers attacking the very foundation of his government - the Catholic Church, and he's still gaining followers. "

The last time I checked, I lived in the United States of America where you can burn flags and crosses just for the hell of it, you can proclaim "Death To America" and still be considered a free man. You can walk down the street wearing a hat depicting Ernesto Che Guevara on it without a second glance.

WHAT WILL LAND ME IN PRISON? What political opinion, if any, will land me in prison? Has ANYONE EVER been sent to prison for Facebook abuse? Has ANYONE EVER been convicted of criminal Class X Felonies for subscribing to the wrong guy?

WHAT THE FUCK is the internet for?!!!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!? EVERYONE has a blog, EVERYONE posts their crazy opinions on their blogs, and there are AMERICAN websites that depict acts of terrorism and death and propaganda insanely without ANY TROUBLE AT ALL.

What are some safe people to subscribe to on twitter? The last time I checked it was just a stupid and pointless website where people post THEIR OPINIONS and status updates just for the FUN of it. Well this isn't fun anymore because I've been convinced that a satellite is going to swoop down and send me to some American Gulag simply because I'm "Following" Chavez on Twitter. (honestly dizzy and seeing stars with anger and screamed at the sky to the point that I lost my voice)

AND ANOTHER QUESTION; They say "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer", is that illegal too? Is having enemies at all, illegal? Is having a political opinion illegal? Is being a Communist illegal?

If you can convince my mother that her proposal is completely insane then you can email her at akalobo23-23@yahoo.com

Thank you, Yahoo Answers Community.

And one last question; if you have a headache from screaming at the sky for an hour and you're covered in sweat and you see a shitload of crazy stars flashing all over the place should you seek medical attention?

I've got a communist Manifesto, and I like the ideology of Communism, but it's globally close to dead, save for Cuba. I have no intention of harming our government or causing a revolution. Our government has enough problems to deal with already. I like Democracy and I think through democracy is the only way our government can change for the positive.

Thank you for the law, very much "Welcome To America". I give Chavez no comfort, I'm not his ally, and if he invited me out for an afternoon brunch I'd probably blow him off to hang with a real friend (unless he was paying, socialists like to pay for food sometimes).

On a positive note the stars are fading and I'm half as dizzy as I was an hour ago. Thank you, everyone. I've never been so angry at any human being in my entire life, but I must obviously be rational because I feel no need to get violent about it.

Well, I don't think you can go to prison for it because I do it to. Not only do I follow Chavez, I also follow Castro, and I also follow several other questionable leaders. You can't be criminalized for it, although people may disapprove of you. Your mother is wrong, supporting communism is fine as long as you don't attempt to take over the government and institute communism. As for the screaming thing, perhaps you should go to a doctor.
