How to get that popular girl at school?

Ok how do you get the popular girl in highschool? I am 17 and let's just say I am not on her level of social skill. I am a cute guy I been told by many girls but I'm not the guy that is on Facebook half the day and have my phone glued to my face all day. It's like they don't even notice you at school? It's strange. But back in middle school I tried talking to one on MySpace being friendly and she was like STOP TALKING TO ME. I was kinda hurt but now I lost some weight and now allot of girls say I'm cute. So sometime I will be walking down the hall and she will notice me. Or glance at me. But I'm scare to talk to her from what happend in middle school. And her approaching me and saying Don't talk to me. And she hand out with all her popular girls and boys in a group. What should I do?
