How do I know whether if someone deleted their Facebook account or took me off their friends list?

Because I was Facebook friends with them, but now I can't find them. Is there any way to tell if they deleted their Facebook or if they just deleted me as a friend?
Edit: Alright, well I searched for their name with a new account I made and I couldn't find them, so that means they probably deleted their facebook right?

If you search their name and it says add as a friend on the right, then they deleted you as a friend. if you can't find them at all when you search their name then they either deleted their facebook OR they blocked you.
