What is the difference between Twitter and Facebook (or MySpace)?
I am trying to explain to my boss the benefits of using Twitter as a means of communicating with our sales force and customer base. He asked me why Twitter is any different from Facebook (or MySpace). And even though I know the answer, I am having a hard time putting it down in words so he could understand it. Any help?

twitter is like myspace and facebook statis update only alone so it makes it better for most things facebook is only for real friends and myspace just is bad

so just say "twitter is a tool for telling something to a large group of people at once and just that"

I guess it depends on what you are trying to communicate to your sales force and customer base. Are you trying to keep them abreast on who's working on what with your sales force, or maybe trying to increase your branding to your customer base?

All social networking tools have their pros and cons. There is definitely an overlap on many of these sites.

I don't think it has to be an either / or situation. To touch base with others really depends on what social network platforms they currently are on. If your customer base is all using Facebook, then that's where you should communicate with them. However, some might be on Twitter, or some might be on MySpace. You need to be there too.

There are many tools that allow you to post your message to one spot and then have it propagated to all of these network sites automatically. That is, send one message out and all of these social networks get updated (e.g., Twitter, Faceback, MySpace, etc.)

Good luck,

Rob
