Why are there ads on every web page I go to when I am using firefox?
I recently downloaded firefox and when I go to for instance facebook I get a bunch of ads that are all over my homepage. But when I use google chrome its completely normal with no ads. Also its not just facebook its every web page I go to.

You see, browsers are like TV shows. Popularity relies on its advertisers. Advertisements flock Mozilla because they know that most of the users are patronizing it and there's a bigger chance that surfers will buy/ride on with their advertisements.

What you can do is to go to http://www.add-ons.mozilla.org/, search for AD BLOCK PLUS and click ADD TO FIREFOX. Firefox will show a dialog box saying; "Install Add-ons form authors whom you trust". or something like that. The INSTALL now button is disabled and will only be available after the countdown beside it is done. Install it and wait for Firefox to prompt you to restart it. Click OK and after rebooting you will see an "ABP" button beside your search bar. Ad Block plus simply stands for Advertisements Block which is very obvious on what it is capable of doing. You'll notice that advertisements will now be gone(or if not will be lessened).

There used to be advertisements beside my Yahoo! Mail but after installing Ad Block Plus, it's now just a blank space.

Hope this helps Smile

You need to get AdBlock Plus for Firefox. It blocks ads.
