because so billions of people use Facebook, so it is a good place for companies to advertise and for facebook to make a lot of money, Simples lol !

Takes a lot of money to run an operation like facebook. If they don't sell advertising how do you reckon they can afford to what they do?

they needs to pay their running costs and if Facebook tried to charge their users, they would lose their market share.

Buddy, pal, FACEBOOK is a gold mine no no DIAMOND mine. It has 500 million users and increasing. All that big audience is what drives advertisers to facebook.
