Is the order of your friends on your Facebook profile random or not?

On your Facebook profile, under the "friends" category, there are 6 of your friends displayed. The order changes a lot, and I'm wondering if this is random or because those people have done something.

Yes, it is random.

Yes, the order is random. You can change the number of friends that will appear in that box to 6, 9, or 12, and you can always make people appear in that box (but the position they appear in will still be random). From your Profile go to the Friend box and hit Edit (it looks like a pencil) and you can make the changes you want.
