Take a year out, or just carry on?

I am in my final year at uni just now, doing my dissertation and awaiting to go out on nursing placement in February.

Things are quite tough just now work wise, and I came out of an abusive relationship in September. I have put that thankfully behind me, but I'm now worried about uni.

It was so stupid, as yesterday, I left a really silly status on my Facebook which was intended for LOL purposes, and nothing personal. I realise now upon reflection it wasnt very good or clever. I basically joked that a junkie had chatted me up and boy did I seem to pick them lol.

This girl in my class who was "friends" with me, took real offence, and started saying about oh that's really judgemental etc. I said it was a joke, it wasnt intended to be rude, but she said things such as think about where I come. She speaks her mind all the time on Facebook and has occasionally deleted statuses etc, and I commented politely on this. She went mad and said I wasnt a friend etc and blocked me.

I sent a polite email in uni to her and explained what I meant and wholeheartedly apologised. She then sent a reply back saying I was "rude and cheeky" and how everyone in my class had warned her about how I am judgemental and cheeky.

It has really upset me and I am too frightened to go to class this afternoon. Her friends are mine too but they have known her for longer, so I know they will ignore me and not speak to me too.

I know some people in the year below and that year seems like a lovely year group. My best mate also failed our year and he is in the year below.

Should I just take a year out and go into their year below? Or what? I have a flat to maintain so I would need to get a job until next summer to support me as well.

you have only 4 months left to complete your final year, so definitely carry on...Also you should not let what people say on facebook affect you and your life, and if those people chose to not talk to you, its their loss!
