question about a girl I like, please advice?

Hi,

I met this girl through my ex about 4-5 years ago. We used to hang out from time to time as a group. I broke up with my ex more than 2 years ago. then I lost contact with most of her friends. However I've become friends with this girl on Facebook few months ago. We chat on Facebook from time to time, just casual conversations. I've really grown to be fond of her. but I don't really know what to do. I mean she's a friend of my ex, but I'm not sure if they are still friends. I would ask her out, but I'm worried about making a idiot out of myself.

Any advice from girls is highly appreciated.

PS: we aren't teens. I'm 27 and she's 23.

Well I think you should just take a chance and ask her. You'll never know what she will say until you ask Ask her if she wants to grab some coffee sometime or get some lunch. Life is too short to be worrying about looking like a idiot. You can do it!
