Help im in love with a boy does he like me?

ok i know what your thinking... love? well i call it that as ive liked him for over a year... hes very popular and hangs about it the same group of friends at Me we talk alot and joke around we talk on facebook and text each other he tells me im his "favourite girl" wich makes me happy he makes me smile and laugh, in school he hugs me when i see him some times he goes love you and does that text and facebook chat too. he tells me im beautiful, he recently found out i liked a boy well i used to but now he just started going out with a girl, i was eating my dinner when i found out and i stop eating and ran to my room and cried... is he trying to make me jelous or does he not like me? i thought he liked me. he knows i like him and he jokes around with it. he knows this will upset me does he like me? what should i do i really like him hes such goodlooking great personality makes me laugh and smile i just dont know what to do thanks in advance

so talking from personal expericence as ive basically had the exact same problem, he probably did like you a bit but then he also just enjoyed having careless flirting with you 'banter' if you want, and he then probably assumed that you didnt like him but liked someone else so to make it seem like he had someone else as well, maybe to make you jealous as well he got a girlfriend (he probably is using her, sorry) but i think you should maybe hint that the person that you like is him and see where that goes and if he guesses thats it him just tell him and if it works in your favour he'll like you too x
