Should I tell Facebook friends that an old mutual friend died?
I just found out that a friend from high school was killed in a motorcycle accident. Should I post a note with the newspaper article on Facebook and tag all of our mutual friends?
Most of these people and I aren't close and haven't seen each other since high school graduation 7 years ago, but they all knew him. Thanks. Ads |

If they didn't have any family on face book sure. Otherwise I would respect their desire to inform the public in their own time. I'm sorry you lost an old friend.

I would not make a note in facebook about it. This is a sensitive subject and it would not be polite to have it be something widely publicized that anyone could see if they were your friend. You would be better off just sending out a private message to all appropriate people. You could put in a link to the newspaper article or the obituary.
