on facebook, how do i get rid of groups on chat?

When i first go facebook, i made groups of my friends that now appear on my chat. There are quite a few, but i dont bother with them anymore :L ... I was wondering, how do i delete them from my facebook? Because i can't figure it out.
Ok, i think you've got the wrong idea:L .. Its not actual groups like you join or get asked to join. Its like, ive organised my friends lists into sublists, and now i want to delete the subgroups .. make more sence?

you have to manually quit on every group that you dont want to chat with,

they're getting pretty annoying huh?

to get rid of them, you must:

* Log-In to facebook.
* Go to the group you want to get rid.
*Click get Leave Group

yeah go hit the Friends tab on the left side
it should give you a list of all your friends.
hit edit friends,
on the left your groups should be there, click on that and at the bottom there is a delete group! (:

First go to your home page then click to settings then open your notifications. And if you want to turn chat off it's chat, little tab at the bottom of the page. Then click to options and finally click on offline.
