What does this line by Walt Whitman mean?
"Does the daylight astonish?"
Context: Do you take it I would astonish? Does the daylight astonish? does the early redstart twittering through the woods? Do I astonish more than they? Ads |

Whitman is asking (paraphrased) o you think I could be a surprise? Does the daylight surprise [people]? Does the morning sun through the woods surprise? Do I surprise people more than daylight and sunrises?
