Would you want to stay friends with someone like this?
So I've been friends with this girl for about 10 years. We were best friends. When I went off to college and she stayed at home by choice to take online college courses, everything changed.

First off, I won numerous academic and sports scholarships to my college, even a full scholarship for my grades. I was so happy and grateful for them. Everyone was happy for me, except that one friend. She got mad at me, saying I got everything too easily, and that I was a selfish person for winning so many scholarships. I brushed it off after she didn't listen to my reasoning about my money situation (older sister also in college, parents don't make enough).

After that happened, she started complaining about me at work ( we work together). She said I don't take enough shifts or I'm never available to switch shifts due to my college schedule (I only work on weekends). I brushed that off as well, but what really got me was when she said that I don't even deserve to essentially have a job because I don't necessarily have to pay for school since I'm on a full scholarship.

She got mad at me for everything, making new friends, getting a boyfriend, and choosing to study rather than hanging out with her. I would always talk to her when she had problems or needed someone, but when she asked about how I was doing and I responded, she seemed like she could care less. When I did hang out with her, she would just gossip and complain about other people. I just couldn't take the negativity anymore, especially after she would complain multiple times on Facebook about not having any friends. So I stopped talking to her, essentially ending the friendship.

A few months have gone by, and I'm starting to feel guilty. I wished her a happy birthday a few days ago, and I felt bad that no one else really noticed that it was her birthday. She doesn't attempt to contact me. Should I feel guilty about ending the friendship, even after the way she treated me? What would you do? Thank you!
