Try to change my ex gf Facebook password.?

Let me start off by saying I know it was wrong I was drunk. So I used my ex girlfriend email account to try change her password so I could see who she's talking to. I got the conformation email and enter in a new password. But since her profile didn't recognize my device I was asked to identify her friends pics and I couldn't. So what happens did her password change? Or is it still whatever password she already had? Will she know someone try? Please someone who knows for sure help

Yes, sh will know someone messed with her Facebook. Not just from her Facebook account (which is currently locked), but also from her email account, the one you used to change her Facebook password.
