What happens when someone blocks you on facebook?

Ok , here's the situation. I haven't really been blocked by anyone , so to speak - but last night at a party I had a pretty bad drunken photo taken of me , didn't even recognize myself! Anyway , scrolling through the newsfeed later i see that picture as an account profile picture , with my name. So some asshole has gone to the length to take this picture and make it into a false account of me , to make fun of me. I start taking my steps to report the account , but not before I sent a message to the account going ' ok , who the fuck is this' - I was quite angry at the time and my intention was to find out who it was that had made it and beat the shit out of them. Not overreacting , i think this is pretty cruel. But as I went to send the completed report that this account was pretending to be me , I got an error message , and couldn't get back to the profile anymore cause the url 'didn't exist' or something. I then looked around other people's friends lists who were friends with my fake account , and couldn't find any trace of it. Great I thought , has the person decided to close the account out of fear or pity haha? That would have been nice , but i can't help but think after they got my threatening message they blocked me , and it only looks like they don't exist. Is this possible? does blocking the account stop you from getting to the url and anything? Thanks , this has really pissed me off.

yeah it may just have blocked you, when your blocked there is no possible way that you can find the account. to b e sure its deleted, make a fake account and search for it, if it comes up then the account is still there.

that is most likely what happened - they blocked you, probably to prevent you from reporting them
