About a year ago I found my old middle school crush on facebook. I have thought of her over the years after I moved away. I finally found her on facebook and I was excited to finally reconnect with her. She even remembered me when I messaged her to explain who I was but she had a boyfriend. About 3-4 weeks ago they broke up. I want to ask her out so badly and finally get my chance with her! But I am unsure of how long they dated and how close they were of if she is not over him yet. She did post sad lyrics as a status two weeks ago. How long should I wait to ask her out? I want to ask her soon but I am afraid it is too soon to ask her as she might not be ready for another relationship but I don't want to wait too long only to have someone else ask her out and lose her again! We are both 24 so most people our age require a lot of time to be ready to date again which I totally understand. I think most people take 1-2 months and other might take a year or more but like I said I am unsure of how long they dated so I don't know how much time she would need. We have been friends on facebook for a year now and they were together for that time but idk how long they were together before that. Anyways I would appreciate any advice!

There is no set timeline, just be there for her when she needs someone to talk too.

The best thing to do is to let her know how you feel and that you are interested. That way, she will have you in mind and may be able to tell you when she is ready to move on. We cannot tell you, only she can. So let her know you understand if she needs time but that you just wanted her to know how you feel. Goodluck

If you can, try to find out from someone else how long they were dating, cuz your right, she may not be ready yet. You don't wanna be the rebound either Sad

so for now just be a good friend, and be there when she needs someone to talk too. If its meant to be it'll happen, but don't jump into it too soon! Hope this helps somewhat, good luck!!
