Is giving Facebook my cell phone # for Facebook mobile safe?
I want to upload pictures from my phone but I have to give Facebook my cell phone number to use Facebook mobile. Is it safe? Will Facebook send me a bunch of ads? Will they use my number for something else?

yes its safe as long as you have it hidden from other facebook users facebook wont send you spam or ads or anything to hide your number from only you go to privacy settings and adjust your setting where it says mobile number restrict that to only you

You won't get ads, but be careful, as it can make your mobile number visible to your Facebook friends. Not such a big deal if everyone you friend is someone you want having your number, but I know a lot of people will add just anyone, or have people friended that they don't necessarily want calling them (like extended family!)
