Question about Facebook groups?

I was recently added to a group on Facebook by someone I know in real life, but it was a group I'd personally rather not be apart of. I don't want to simply leave the group in fear of offending the person, so my question is: Can friends see what groups I am in?

Thanks Fez. So they can see if I'm apart of the group, if they find the groups page and look through all it's members and spot me. So they have no knowledge that I'm apart of the group (like it doesn't appear on my profile) unless they find the groups page and see me, is that what you're saying?

They would have to search through group members, it's not obvious but yes they could if they wanted.

If its an 'open' group they can know if you like or comment on a post in tha group, because of the Ticker sidebar. Also if they belong to the group and search for you under group members.

yes they can see it they can see the group member list just leave the group if you dont want to be in it and if your friend asks just tell him or her i dont want to be apart of the group
