How to get rid of "Birthday Calendar" request on Facebook?

For the past 3 weeks I get a reminder that a friend has invited me to try "Birthday Calendar" on Facebook. How do I get rid of this app request?

Go to your notifications and then there should be an "x" on the far right.. and then click it, it will say, "Turn Off" and then click "Turn OFF" then you will never get that kind of notification again.

Go to Privacy Settings (located in the drop down menu beside home link), put the radio button on custom. Just below you will find Blocked People and Apps, beside that click on manage blocking, a new page will open, at the bottom of the page you will find block app, beside it there will be a text box, just type the name of the app you want to block, it will give you some suggestion, select from that and you are done.
