I hate Facebook but love the chat. Can I delete it without losing the chat?

Facebook is so annoying. I waste so much time on it and it only makes me upset when I do. Is there a way I can delete my facebook account, but still be able to chat with my friends? I really appreciate this part of the site. I also like that people can send me messages and invites to events.

if u want to talk to people go on omegle.com (u practicly talk to strangers, but they know nothing about u, u dont have to make an account... its so much fun

dude if you only want the chat part, you can always use external chat software like 'fb messenger - pidgin - nimbuzz' but dont deactivate your acc just keep it on and dont log in, just use the ex-software
