Can you put something on people's newsfeed from your facebook group?

I made an awesome facebook group, and already have a bunch of members, most of whom aren't on my friends list. Is it possible for me to post something on all of their newsfeeds, like thanking them for joining, asking them to invite more people or something, as the facebook group? I don't want to friend all of them, and I have already wrote on the groups wall, but I wanted to put something right on their newsfeed, the same way a game or fan club lets you know of updates.

go to the group and where you would normally type on a persons wall...type it there
