Is my boyfriend trying to set me up or is this guy a complete weirdo/stalker? Please help!?

My boyfriend and I have been together since June 14th, 2010. We currently live an hour apart, but see each other a few times a month. I'm 17 as of the 6th and he's 19 as of July.

Well tonight... this guy named Brian added my boyfriend on Facebook and 5 minutes later, this same guy sent me a friend request. He lives in the town that my boyfriend lives in. I don't know this guy. About 10 minutes after accepting his request, I get a text saying: ''I just have to say you are so very beautiful and I wish you were single, I would love to take you out to dinner''.. and I said ''who's this?'' and he said ''should I really tell you lol'' and I for some reason thought it was this Brian guy.. I checked his Facebook profile to see if he had his number listed, and sure enough... it was this Brian guy texting me.

My boyfriend texts me saying ''who's Brian?'' and I said ''I don't know, he added me'' and my boyfriend said ''he works at Verizon''.... my boyfriend asked ME who this guy was, yet my boyfriend already knew this guy works at Verizon where my boyfriend lives.

I asked this guy how he got my number and he said ''that, I can't tell you''.... my number is listed NO WHERE on my Facebook & considering this guy works at Verizon... I assume he some how got my number from my boyfriends phone account? Either that, or my boyfriend is trying to set me up and see if i'd flirt with this guy or something. This guy is 25 years old apparently. My boyfriend is swearing he had no one text me and he has no idea what's going on, but this is just way too suspicious and weird.

Is my boyfriend trying to set me up or is this guy a weirdo? :/

It's honestly hard to tell. I would just ignore this guy completely and see what happens.
