How to remove/disable my birthday on Facebook?

I'd like to disable/remove my birthday on Facebook or make it private. Can this be accomplished without any notifications?

I've looked around their site and gave up. Not a huge user there and they just keep making changes on their layout!

Would gladly appreciate a solution.

Go to your profile page and underneath your cover photo it should say "update info" click on that and then on the right side of the screen it will say "Basic Info" click on edit, and under the birthday section you can choose whether to show your full birthday, only the month and day or to not have it appear on your timeline.
