How do I keep questions I have asked confidential in my Yahoo Profile?
Apparently someone just went in there and looked through them to see if any were reportable. I got a bunch of deletions suddenly from relatively old questions.

You can do that from My Activity tab on the top of the page. On that page:
1. Click on "Edit My Preferences" link
2. Click on Privacy & Communications tab
3. In share my Question & Answers, select my contact only

click on your name on the upper left corner
then click on the info tab on the left
then edit your settings to either "visible to no one" or "visible to connections only"

What you need to do is 2 things

Click on your avatar pic ( orange exclamation point)
---then click both of these links

1. Click Edit My Preferences
Make your Questions and Answers private.
This will make your info unviewable for Y!A

2. Click View Pulse

Click Settings on the right of the page
Updates> Manage Updates
Uncheck the box that says " Show my Updates"
This will make other info unviewable

You can also view the Privacy area on this same "Settings" page
If you make your profile private .. your avatar pic wont show on Y!A

What she ^^ said is under the privacy and communications tab.
You may also consider reviewing your contacts, cos you can't hide your questions from them. If you don't trust any of them I'll advise you to delete them

Here is how you do that:

First step...go to My Activities>Edit My Preferences>Privacy & Communications. Under "Sharing and network:" you will see "Share my Q&A with:". Select "My Contacts Only" and click Submit at the bottom of the page.

Then for more privacy you need to check your Pulse settings.

From Answers go to My Activity>View Pulse>Settings>Manage updates. Make sure "Share my updates" is not checked. Save at the bottom of the page.

You can also manage whether you want Twitter or Facebook linked to your Yahoo! account by going to Settings>Manage my linked accounts
