Should I ask ex boyfriend if his facebook status was about me or just forget it?

My ex who broke up with me recently put a status on his facebook that could either be about me or another ex girlfriend. Since I don't know who he is referring to I thought to not ask him about it. Me and him are friends and he texted me 3 days ago.

i think asking him directly if his status was about you will be pretty awkward, so you should text him, and somewhere in the convo ask who his status is about
