How do I get IE to stop opening dozens of new browser windows?
I've tried running McAfee, Malwarebytes, AdAware, but none of them have detected any issues. AdAware just found tracking cookies. So far, this has only happened when I close my browser window from Facebook or NetVibes. After I close the window to end my session, that's when the new windows pop up one after another with Facebook.com or Netvibes.com. Any ideas on what it is or how to get rid of it? My Dell laptop is brand new!

Go to the Internet Explorer home page. Depending on what version of IE you have, I would try upgrading to IE7. If you already have IE7, try IE8 beta. If none of these work, start using Firefox browser.

I hate IE. It has too many issues (that being one of them). I use Mozilla Firefox.

Download a utility called "ProcessExplorer" and run it when the popups are there. It will show you the iexplore.exe process and show the "heirarchy" above it, which means it shows what application caused it to come up. If you have spyware or even some kind of addon application for facebook that's doing it, it will help you sniff it out.
ProcessExplorer is trusted by Microsoft & can be found on Microsoft's own site here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysin...96653.aspx

Both my work computer and home computer do that after I close myspace. Not always, but frequently. I don't think it's a virus since both have virus protection on them. I don't know if there's any way to fix it.
