Does one get notifications when you are deleted off someone's facebook?

I'm new to Facebook and got a notification someone added me as a friend today but when I clicked on the person's page it appears the person didn't add me at all (only shares some of his profile with everyone, send a message or add as friend etc) Bizarre.

They can remove you from their friends list and you wont know unless you see that the "Add as Friend" button appears on their page

The answer is no. When you remove someone from your list of friends, you are automatically removed from theirs. Although Facebook won’t notify you when being removed from a list of friends, you still can deduce it by noticing an absence in your own list.
