How to delete ex-boyfriend from Facebook without upsetting him?

He is the one who ended it because the long distance factor was too much and he said he would be far away for another 2 years or so, so he let me go. So we didn't end on completely bad terms, but I want to get over him and find someone else, but it will be hard to do that if we stay on each others' Facebook. How do I tell him I'm going to be deleting him without hurting his feelings?

Who cares? He dumped you! Block him. Your first duty is to yourself and you want to move on. It is totally assinine to keep him as a FB contact under the circumstances.
