How do you remove a friend request on Facebook?

I sent a friend request to someone who hasn't answered yet. I recently decided that my FB should be close friends only, so I cleaned out my Facebook friends but if he accepts the request, then I have to go back and unfriend him right after he accepted my request (meh). Is there any way to remove your friend request to someone before they accept it?

when you go to their page, under their picture and all those things there should be a few options in blue writing, one of them should be Cancel friend request or something similar

Press that button that has the little bodies on them.the right hand click it twice.and from there it should be easy.it should be something that says. Your sent friend request
