Can the cops be called if someone is going through your stuff?
My boyfriends cousins are going through his emails facebook, myspace and ect. They threw him out 2 weeks ago without a 30day warning and are now going through his private things on their computer. Can anything be done about this law wise? Could we call the cops? we are in the state of illinois.

If it's their computer, then he doesn't have anything private on there. Honestly, if there hasn't been any actual damage to him, nothing can be done.

1) Change your password
2) If there isn't a written contract nothing can be proved otherwise, unless there is a direct witness
3) Unless there is money, personal welfare, or publicity involved, the police tend not to give a shit.
4) Tell him to man up and not be a weiner shitzel and confront them

If it's their computer, then he should have taken more care in logging out. Those aren't his private things if they can readily access them, and since it's their computer, there's nothing wrong with them going through his things that are on it. While they might have been wrong about throwing him out without a warning, the computer issue isn't going to take you very far. Tell your boyfriend to change his passwords immediately, and have the cops help him get his stuff out of the relative's home.

you might be able to get the police to get him back in pending a 30 day notice. he legally still lives there. they can't lock him out.
he should change his passwords on a computer at the library if necessary.
30 day notice should be done by an impartial 3rd party. you can't just throw people out.
