Should you not put your real birthday on facebook?

someone said you should never do this, that it is a prime way for people to perform identity theft

so what do you guys do?

should i really take any precautions?

i only have my month and day showing. you dont need to show your year. or you can set it so only friends can see that stuff

Always enter false info into accounts like this . Simply write down all info and save just in case the website needs you to confirm what you entered in case of a lost password, error issues etc. .

It depends.

If you're going to add everyone and their mother/father/sister/brother, then put a false birth date. If it's just going to be your real friends and such, then I'd say to put your real one.

Since I'm careful and don't add people I don't know, I just put my real birth date. (That, and if anyone is going to steal my identity, they must be quite bored).

No you really shouldn't put too much personal information on there.
especially if your a teen age gal.
