I am trying to find my dad and i don't know how to find him. I only know his first name and the first letter of his last name. I know he moved to Puerto Rico when I was 5. And i know where he lived before that but that's all I know.

You probably do not realize it, but you have asked your question in Genealogy where we study family trees/family history of our deceased ancestors. Finding living people is not a specialty of genealogical research.

Without his last name, your search will probably not be successful. If you do not have a copy of your birth record, where your father's name may be noted, then I suggest you obtain a copy. To do that, if your mother does not have a copy for you to look at, you will need to contact the state agency, in the state where you were born, that handles vital records. You will need to pay for a copy of your birth record.

If you find your father's name on your birth record, then . . .

Here is a link to an article on finding living people on the genealogy web pages of Ancestry.com from 2000 -- some of the info is a bit dated, now:
http://www.ancestry.com/learn/library/ar...ticle=2854

You could try 123PeopleSearch:
http://www.123peoplesearch.com/

You could also try checking the various social media web sites for his name:
Facebook, MySpace, Eons, Linkdin, Classmates, MyLife, etc.

If none of those web sites give you some direction or info, then, yours is a search for a paid private investigator.

Best wishes
