How do you write to a relative you've never met?

Im 16 and recently I just found my 21 year old brother on Facebook. Ive never met him in my entire life and Im nervous about writing to him. What should I say? Hes my half brother and we have two other brothers too.

I would just start out the letter explaining who you are, tell him a little about yourself and go from there. You could also do the same thing on Facebook, by sending him a message.

here is an example:

Hello, im (your full name)
I am your half-sister. I know this may sound weird, but i have been searching for my half-brother for a while, and now i have finally found you. I am a bit nervous writing to you, as we are almost complete strangers. You might remember (your two older brother's names). We are living in (where you live) now. And continue to describe your life for a bit, and ask questions. Be honest with him.
