How to get my Mom to let me get Facebook?

I am 13 turning 14 so I am the required age. She is allowing my older brother who is 15 as of this year to have it. It is so unfair some points I can say to her so she'll allow me!??

Get your brother to show your mum what facebook is about! Get him to show her the security pages that you can set EVERYTHING to private...pictures, information about you EVERYTHING and the only people that can see your profile are the ones that add you as a friend and you accept their friendship add.

As long as your not the kind of kid to add strangers etc. then she should be able to trust you! However there is alot of fan pages and groups that I wouldnt want my 14 year child to see....

There is alot of weird people out there so I understand why your mum isnt happy to let you have a facebook but I guess using Yahoo answers is just as "bad" if not worse because you are talking to strangers...whereas you can control who you talk to on facebook via privacy settings....if your computer is in the front room tell your mum she can "have a look at the screen" whenever she wants to check and see what your upto!

I hope it works out for you but BE SAFE there are alot of freaks out there....(btw I'm only 19 so I too have to be careful about who I talk to on the internet
