I found my daughter on Facebook. But I admit I still have some doubts is she really is mine. Anyway, we have been communicating with each other on FB for about 1 month now and I think I have convinced her she is mine but now i have decided to let her know about another guy who could possibly be her father as well. Is this a bad idea???

Tell him, he has a right to know if he is the father. How would you like it if it was the other way round and you had a daughter you didn't know about.

Nope. this girl has EVERY right to know who her real father is. her mom should have taken care
of that a long time ago. if willing have you, her, and her possible father take a paternity test, and go from there.
good luck! Smile

If you could get the mother involved then do so. Trying to do this will get the mother off the hook if the daughter decides to backlash. If the mom doesn't cooperate then let her know. I know a girl who found out when she was a teen that her mom wasn't who she thought she was. She will be very upset if she gets the surprise later in life.

Sooner or later your going to have to go through a paternity test. Perhaps get the test done asap and if your not a match tell her about the other man. Thinking about if I were in her shoes I wouldn't want another shock unless there was a need for it. You've convinced her your her dad now find out.

Get a DNA test done to eliminate the what ifs, it costs $500 to do it at a real lab where the results are so accurate they are admissible in court....IF you are not the father then clue her in, and if you are then just move on with your happy family. Don't do an at home test because those are wrong nearly 20% of the time and this is just too important NOT to know!

No that would be the best idea for you to do. First of all she might respect you more for telling her the truth and not lying to her. Second of all she can figure out who her real father is. Good luck.(:
