How do I delete a profile on facebook that I can no longer access?

I keep receiving email for that account from facebook but when I try and get a new password to access it facebook tells me there is no account. I can search facebook and find it so why can't facebook?

You've got to be able to access the account in order to delete it.

The best way is to contact support because there is no other way of doing it. They will tell you what to do next and how to react.
