How do I find my mother?
I'm seventeen, I haven't seen my mother since I was a little boy. I have one picture of her from a long time ago. I don't have any money. I just want to figure out how my mother's life has gone on without me. I need to know how find her somehow. My dad doesn't want anything to do with her, he doesn't talk about her nor does he want me around her. If you know of a way I could discreetly find my mom for free let me know please.

Your dad probably has a good reason for not wanting you around her. You should respect that and give up your search. If you do find her, there's a good chance you'll be disappointed.

first off..IGNORE THE FIRST ANSWER because she doesnt know what its like to search for someone... Never give up, and dont let anyone try to discourage you, because your old enough to find out, and also you have the right to find your mother.

If you know what her first name is, try asking family members that you know will give you the answers. You could also try facebook.com and see if you can type in her name and see if any clues come up.

I watch oprah sometimes, and she has a new show on her own channel called "searching for..", and there is a lady that helps people search for there loves ones, and so here is a link for you to apply/submit your story, and maybe they will call you (its worth a try I think): http://www.oprah.com/own/plug_form2.html...id=7398756

I hope you do find her, and dont let anyone discourage you from finding her, because you deserve to know and thats that!!

Good luck!! I wish you the best!!!!!

Assuming she is still using the same last name, you can sometimes find people on social networking sites like Facebook or MySpace. If that fails try:
http://find.person.superpages.com/
http://www.anywho.com/
http://www.123people.com/
http://www.zabasearch.com/

Additionally, you should try asking family members... aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins…anyone who might have any know knowledge her.

You might also have a look at this list of resource from Cyndi’s List for Finding People: http://www.cyndislist.com/finding-people/

Lots of links on here to look for living people, if you check out several and cross referene the information you get you could get enough information without paying fees http://familytimeline.webs.com/adoptionl...ations.htm
Just be realistic and keep in mind that your dad will have his reasons, however she is your mum and I do understand you need to find out...good luck with your search

You are still a minor and do not have the legal rights of an adult. As a researcher for many years and having worked with attorneys in locating the biological families of adoptees I can say that there is no "discreet" way that is free for the type of search you are talking about. I would wait until you are legally of age and then hire someone who specializes in this type of search. Most records on living people are protected by privacy acts and the general public cannot access them. You might try using face book, I understand that a lot of people do and it seems to be suggested a lot, I have no personal experience with it as I do not use Face book because of privacy issues.

Hi,
To be fair , if your dads a good man there is obviously a reason why he does not want u searching for you mother. she must of done something wron perhaps? but i suppose everybody makes mistakes and it is your choice now.. you should talk to ur dad just once more, and explain that u want to meet her. If dat doessent work maybe look her up online? or go to the church and search for her birth cert, keep trying and don't give up and eventually u will find her Smile hold that chin up high! You'll get there ,,

bye,,x
