Is it wrong to feel upset about loved ones not wishing me a happy birthday?
I had SO many relatives and friends wish me a happy birthday - phone calls, texts, facebook, etc. A couple close friends did not - and one went on to Facebook posted something on someone elses wall and didn't say anything to me. I know it's silly - they could have not even noticed. But, it hurts and I don't know how to not let it upset me! Especially when I wish all of my close friends and family a happy birthday - it's their day and they should be remembered!

I would feel bad too...next time you could invite your friends over for a party and then they would definatly remember.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

And I too forgot my neice's b-day . I feel like a schmuck because I forgot. I got on line and sent her a gift card to DeLia's but I feel awful. : ( In fact if it were not for reading this post I would not have remembered her day. Thank you for that.

Trust me those family and friends who love you, if they knew you were sad would feel awful too. It is not wrong at all to be sad. Of course you are sad. And then to see they remembered someone else's big day and not yours. That just stinks... You are not silly for wanting them to remember you.

Now how do you fix this?

If it were me, I would start treating myself to all the wonderful things I could imagine. A bubble bath with my favorite bubbles, bake my favorite cake, eat my favorite foods, paint my nails a bright pink, play my favorite music all day, on my face book I would write Happy Birthday to me!, ....

And know that this will pass and next year send a out a few subtle hints about your special day.

On the positive side a lot of people did wish you a happy birthday so remember that. Birthdays and special occasions are very important to you so it's not wrong to feel sadness that two people you like very much seemed to have forgotten. Maybe they had some other issues in their lives and just missed your big day. You sound like a very warm generous person and you shouldn't change because of this and keep remembering everyone's birthday and know you are making them happy.
