I am adopted and just turned 18 now i can find my birth mother... what are some ways that i can go about this. I don't have money for a private investigator or anything, i don't have any money at all... what are some ways using the info that i have that i can find her?
I cannot put anything on facebook due to younger sibblings that by law cannot have contact with her yet

The first thing I would do is put the info into something such as facebook. Google it, etc. If you wanted some help, you can e-mail me from my profile page. But there's not too much you can do without the money. Especially if her name is very common like Sarah Jane Smith.

try pipl.com. it's a great search site that pulls information from all around the web (white pages, facebook, public records, etc) and is very useful in finding people. I found my abros and asis's families that way.

You have everything you need to find her! My mother was an adoption detective! You can google her easily and search phone records. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ is a great website that's where my mom did most of her investigating. You don't want to do facebook that is really public. When you find her send her a letter in the mail rather than calling her and give her your email or phone number. And your address. Don't just show up on there door. We all flew out to see my grandpa's whole family for a family reunion when we found them it was awesome! Ancestry.com is a good one too. I'm not sure if you have to pay for these since my mom had her own business. Ancestry doesn't mean old either it means everybody and there dogs info!! You can also search marriage licenses which I'm sure you will have to in order to find her now. Then you can narrow down your search by that. You can request a copy of the marriage certificate too through the state it's free I think.

Since you have her DOB, it should be fairly straightforward. The place to start is http://www.dobsearch.com

If you need help, try Yahoo!Groups 'Soaring Angels'

Ancestry.com. google. you can try to get her birth record from the archive where she was born at the court house and find her parents names so than you will have many last names to call any distant relatives you could find and start asking.

Make a fictitious or different type of facebook/myspace so your siblings dont find out.
Can the adoption agency help you in any way? Or try the library to see what they suggest or what archives they have. good luck
