How do random people find me on twitter?

I don't get how they find you, I mean I know they can type in your name but they're all people that I don't know and who don't know me so I was just wondering how they actually found me?? I don't tweet a lot and they're not very interesting so it wouldn't be anything to do with funny tweets so I was just wondering?
