How do you repost your relationship status to the Facebook newsfeed?

So my bf asked me to put the relationship thing that we were going out on Facebook. So I accepted it, but my mom and sister couldn't see it on their feed or my profile. So I realized I had the settings for my relationship set to private. I changed it and It came up on my timeline, but would never post on the newsfeed. Is there anyway to like repost it?!?!?
