Women - would you go out with a man who had a 'stammer'?
I have a friend who is good-looking, recently divorced (for private reasons), who has a dreadful stutter.
He is fine with me, because he is confident that I won't try to finish his sentences and I am patient. With other people, his stammer gets worse - and they lose interest or actually avoid him! On the subject, why is it rare for females to have a stammer? Ads |

Hmm thats a good question, i dont know any woman that has a stutter. i know a few men that do though. there is a lovely guy who works behind the bar at my local pub, he has a slight stutter, and i would definatly go out with him if it came to it. nothing matters when it comes to love. it just depends on your actual feelings for this guy x

Some must as all of my relatives who stuttered had wonderful marriages!

Their book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" worked wonders after working through it step by step. The book can be found here http://www.stutteringhelp.org/Portals/En...nth_ed.pdf Some medications that other stutterers have tried include lorazepam, citalopram, celexa, and buspar. Ask your doctor about trying an anti-anxiety medication while you are working on your stuttering. Be aware that your stuttering may be better than the side-effects of the medication, though. Each stutterer is different, and a therapist who specializes in treating stuttering will be able to determine what will help you the most as they work with you. The Foundation also has a list of speech therapists who have been trained to work with stutterers About 4 times as many men as women. I haven't read if anyone has determined why. |
